"We are big enough to serve you, yet small enough to know you."
Welcome to Morganton Savings Bank!
Morganton Savings Bank is Burke County’s only local financial Institution, serving our friends and neighbors since 1903. With some of the strongest levels of capital in the nation and conservative and prudent business practices, Your money is always safe and sound with us.
Beginning June 1, 2020, we welcome you back to our lobby, but we ask that you not enter our lobby if you’re not feeling well. You’ll still have lots of options for banking such as our drive-thru, telephone, online or mobile banking. Please call us at 828-437-1426. We’re here to help.
For your protection, our building has been sanitized by VITAL-GUARD. This is a process that tests all surfaces for the presence of all live viruses and bacteria. All surfaces are then sanitized, and a covalent anti-microbial coating is applied which kills virus and bacteria that comes into contact with it. All surfaces are then re-tested to ensure they have been sanitized. Follow-up testing is done weekly to ensure the effectiveness of the protective coating with re-sanitization and recoating when needed.
As much as we’d love to visit with you, we’re respecting safe distancing measures and limited contact exposure. Please limit your visit to your transaction and exit the building upon completion of your transaction. Please keep a physical distance (6-feet) from others, wherever and whenever possible.

- To help protect our customers and our staff we have installed plexi-glass hygiene guards on our teller windows.

COVID - 19 SCAM WARNING
The U.S. Secret Service’s Global Investigative Operations Center released an alert warning of the increase in COVID-19 stimulus scams. These fraudsters pose as U.S Treasury officials and contact potential victims through texts or emails directing them to a website to register to receive a stimulus check. The websites are designed to collect victims’ personally identifiable information, bank account information, email addresses, passwords and more.
The Secret Service expects these and similar frauds to increase over the next several weeks. Maintain increased vigilance when providing information through a website. The agency reminds the public that official stimulus/relief information regarding COVID-19 will never be sent via text message or on any other messaging platforms. Consumers seeking information about the stimulus/relief program should contact the specific government agency only through its website for guidance. Do not click on links in text messages or emails.
OTHER WARNINGS AND TIPS:
Don't respond to texts, emails or call about checks from the government. Information regarding your payment status can be found at the IRS's Economic Impact Payments Information Page.
Ignore online offers for vaccinations and home test kits. There are no proven treatments or approved home tests available at this time.
Hangup on robocalls. Scammers are using illegal robocalls to pitch everything from low-priced health insurance to work-at-home schemes.
Only use official sites to get the latest information on COVID-19.
