Why a Community Bank?
Morganton Savings Bank S.S.B. is Burke County’s only local financial institution, serving our neighbors and friends continuously since 1903.
In 2001, we completed an adaptive historical renovation of “The Cedars”, the home of Col. Samuel McDowell Tate and relocated our offices in this landmark building. We are located at the intersection of West Union and King Streets, and are proud to have been able to preserve this piece of history for our community.
All decisions are made locally by Our President/CEO and Our Board of Directors, who are all local business people. Our employees and our organization invests significant time and resources supporting our community. Employees serve on local non-profit boards and other organizations. Our charitable donations are made to local organizations and charities in the community.
